Common Issues and Solutions

If you're experiencing problems with the Celeste Mod Loader, check the solutions below for common issues. If your problem isn't listed here, please join our Discord community for additional support.

Common Issues

Mod Loader Won't Start

If the Mod Loader application won't start:

  1. Ensure you have the latest version of the Mod Loader, available for download from our GitHub Releases.
  2. Check that you have administrative privileges on your computer.
  3. Make sure your antivirus isn't blocking the application.
  4. Try reinstalling the Mod Loader.
  5. Verify that you have the required .NET Framework installed (Windows).

Game Not Found

If the Mod Loader can't find your inZOI installation:

  1. Manually browse to your Celeste installation folder in the Mod Loader settings by opening the app and navigating to the 'Settings' tab.
  2. Verify that Celeste is properly installed and runs without the Mod Loader.
  3. If using Steam, verify the integrity of game files through Steam.
  4. Make sure you're pointing to the main inZOI directory, not a subdirectory.

Windows Security Warning

If Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer or application:

  1. Click "More info" on the warning dialog.
  2. Click "Run anyway" to proceed with the installation.
  3. If you're still having issues, temporarily disable your antivirus software during installation.
  4. Remember to re-enable your antivirus after installation.

Mods Not Working

If installed mods aren't working properly:

  1. Check that the mods are properly installed in the Mod Loader.
  2. Verify that the mods are compatible with your version of Celeste.
  3. Try disabling other mods to check for conflicts.
  4. Restart the Mod Loader and Celeste.
  5. Check the mod's documentation for specific requirements.

Setting Up Mod Loader

If you haven't yet set up the correct directories:

  1. Make sure the path to your Celeste installation and mod directory is set correctly in the Mod Loader settings.
  2. In the Mod Loader, open the 'Settings' menu, navigate to the 'Game Path' section, and set it to the folder where Celeste is installed.
  3. Under 'Mods Directory,' specify the folder where you store your mods.
  4. Ensure both paths are valid and accessible to avoid issues with loading mods.

How to Download from GitHub Releases (Windows)

Follow these steps to download the latest version of the Celeste Mod Loader from GitHub Releases:

  1. Visit the Celeste Mod Loader GitHub Releases page.
  2. On the right side, under the "Assets" section, you�ll see a list of available downloads.
  3. Find the download that matches your system (e.g., "celeste-inzoi-mod-loader.Setup.x.x.x.exe " for Windows).
  4. Click on the file to start the download.
  5. Once downloaded, run the setup file and follow the installation instructions to install the Mod Loader.
